Os MTV Video Music Awards 2011 decorreram durante esta madrugada, com o domínio na entrega dos galardões por parte de Katy Perry e Adele.
Nesta 28ª edição, Katy Perry arrecadou o comiçado Video of the Year, com “Firework”, e mais dois prémios. A Adele somou 4 prémios, destacando-se ainda o Best Female Video com Lady Gaga a receber por “Born This Way”, e Best Male Video com “U Smile” de Justin Bieber.
Destaca-se ainda o prémio especial, Michael Jakson Video Vanguard Award, entregue a Britney Spears.
